Salty air saturates my skin
Shifting from out to in to out,
Inside this doubt takes root
Tearing at the foundations of this house,
Good.

A woodlouse makes her way from here to there
Ignorant of care,
While I bare the full force of trying to love,
Trying to caste off unwanted pride
To unite right and wrong
And once again to take my place where I belong,
Here,
With wind and waves
And salty skin,
And a heart breaking open so slowly
That I don’t know if I can stay.
So I leave this shore with no more than when I came.
