Unknown Opening

The unknown opens
Deep belly pit darkens
Swallowing whole 
Holding nothing but the fear of rejection.
The earth quakes
Long growing diamonds like hearts break
And a cold slap to the face
Awake.
Alone.
Is this a mistake?
Or a chance for fate
to make her move.
I’ve waited enough, it seems
For the tears to push through
Streams of sadness
That slowly erode
The sense of self I thought I had.
